Caroline Killeavy

Chief Executive

As CEO of Our Dementia Choir, Caroline leads the day‑to‑day running of the charity, supports our brilliant team, and makes sure every choir member feels safe, valued, and inspired. She’s responsible for keeping the charity financially sustainable and ensuring we continue to offer our members and their families a place filled with joy, connection, and hope.

Caroline brings 30 years of experience as a high‑performing senior charity leader. She joined the charity after the passing of her beloved mum — a glorious songbird who lived with dementia for many years — and carries that personal connection into everything she does.

Daniela Smith

Musical Director

Daniela is deeply passionate about the power of music and the emotional impact it can have—something she experiences every time she works with Our Dementia Choir. As Music Director, she leads rehearsals and concerts while also shaping the choir’s work behind the scenes, arranging music and overseeing preparations to ensure each performance is as uplifting as possible.

Alongside this, Daniela is a dedicated teacher across Nottinghamshire and has spent many years as Vocal Lead for the Inspire-led Nottinghamshire Music Hub, playing a key role in developing and delivering vocal provision across the county.

Daniela holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Huddersfield and has also studied music therapy, which she has drawn on throughout her 25+ year career. Her approach is deeply personal—her Nanna lived with Alzheimer’s and found great comfort in songs from her native Italy. Outside of her professional life, Daniela is kept busy at home with her two boys.

Jessica Johnson

Comms and Operations Manager

Jess is the Communications and Operations Manager at ODC, playing a key role in the day-to-day running of the choir. She oversees everything from coordinating rehearsals and supporting members, to managing the choir’s social media platforms and website, helping to share its impact with a wider audience.

Jess is known for her warm, approachable nature and the strong relationships she builds with both choir members and their carers. Her connection to the choir’s mission is deeply personal, having cared for her own Granny who lived with dementia, she brings genuine empathy, understanding, and compassion to her work every day.

With a background in care as well as performance, Jess combines practical support skills with creative energy. This blend of experience allows her to connect with members through music while ensuring the choir runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Jess is passionate about creating an inclusive, uplifting environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and inspired through music.
